I want to write something here daily, but it's technically not today (1/4/08) anymore. It's already tomorrow, so what I'm writing now counts for yesterday. This may happen about twice a month because of our JBGS game night that starts in the early evening and usually lasts till the early morning.
I figured that this might be possible, but I didn't learn whether it was so until today. You can move the tabs around at the bottom of a Google spreadsheet (much the same as in Excel). This is very handy for the moderately (or less) computer literate people who need to use such an application that you previously setup for them. They can see the sheet they're supposed to use as soon as they access the spreadsheet instead of having to find the right tab (of a multi-tab spreadsheet) to click first.

Here's a couple of ideas for future "things you've learned today"...
ReplyDelete1 - You can actually change the post date/time in blogger - so you could have dated this post back to 11:59 on the prior day to make sure it read the day you intended (in fact, you can go back and do that now if you want ;) Just look for the "post options link at the bottom of the compose window in blogger...
2 - Besides being able to re-arrange tabs in a Google spreadsheet, you can
a) publish only the specific tab you intend people to see (for those times when you're only intending people to view and not edit it)... Use the Publish tab - then the "more publishing options" link ( which shows once you publish), then see how you can pick a sheet and/or range of cells...
and...
b) publish a spreadsheet right inside a blog bost - by using the format: "html to embed in a web page" from the "more publishing options" dialog...
There... that should cover you for 2 or 3 days ;)
